Sei Showcase
💨 What’s happening: Monaco deployed a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to its testnet, letting AI applications connect directly to its markets and data.
💨 Why it matters: MCP is a standard that enables AI tools to connect to third-party services such as data stores and tools.
Implementing the protocol lets Monaco improve its exposure to AI agents and applications, which traders can use to pull orderbook data, compare funding rates or review trades using natural language queries.
MCP servers also remove the need to construct some tools on Monaco: instead of writing integrations before testing, developers can connect their AI agents to the network’s MCP server, and start querying it right away. That lowers the barrier for creating strategies, dashboards and research tools.
💨 The bigger picture: Currently, Monaco’s MCP server only allows AI agents to read and analyze data, but traders still need to make trades themselves.
That gap is being addressed through ZeroDev’s smart account integration, which replaces a standard wallet with a programmable contract that lets users grant an app permission to act on their behalf.
Combined, this setup allows an AI model to read Monaco’s orderbooks and place orders through an AI-powered account.
