Anime Domain Expansion
Highlighting the latest update from Animechain.
What happened: Animechain's digital collectible platform, collect.anime.xyz, is moving its base to Arbitrum in a bid to improve its inventory.
Why it matters: The move is designed to solve the collect.anime.xyz inventory problem. Since launching its gacha format, collect.anime.xyz has sold out four times, and each time, the team has had to source inventory directly from Phygitals.
Phygitals has needed to park inventory on Animechain specifically for collect.anime.xyz. And while collect.anime.xyz has seen demand from its community, it is not feasible for Phygitals to let inventory sit on a niche chain like Animechain instead of using it on Solana.
Moving bases to Arbitrum removes that bottleneck, as Phygitals can transfer inventory to Arbitrum, where there’s more liquidity for the inventory to route assets and expand distribution. In turn, collect.anime.xyz can stay stocked more consistently.
The bigger picture: Phygitals currently operates with roughly $15 million in annualized fees across its entire platform. To keep its collectible digital machines stocked, the platform buys graded cards on secondary markets, acting as a recurring buyer for the asset in order to help provide market value.
This activity, alongside the demand trading card games (TCGs) are seeing, aligns with what Animechain is attempting to do. TCG indexes that tracked Pokémon sales outpaced the S&P 500's long-term average annual return during 2025, especially when crypto was riding high. Alongside the category’s general popularity, gacha platforms are a major contributor to this growth, so restocking machines means Phygitals has to repeatedly pull graded inventory out of circulation.
The collect.anime.xyz platform applies the same playbook to the Azuki TCG: revenue from Pokémon and One Piece card pack sales is used to buy graded Azuki slabs on secondary markets such as eBay, which are then loaded into the platform's machines as prizes.
In Case You Missed It
Highlighting developments from the Animecoin ecosystem.
Animechain released documentation for developers trying to deploy on the network and receive gas funds. The docs cover how to configure a wallet for the chain, request funds from the faucet, and verify contracts, removing the manual steps that previously required going through the team directly to deploy.
Four Pillars wrote an article about why Azuki, the NFT project affiliated with Animecoin, decided to create a trading card game.
Kusari used Animechain for the first edition of its soulbound token, which was distributed to all of its NFT holders. This marked one of the first uses of Animechain by a project outside the Azuki ecosystem.
Collectr collaborated with Animecoin to release a themed art piece to Animechain. The drop puts an Animecoin-branded piece in front of Collectr's existing collector base, a group that overlaps with trading card and grading platforms.
The Azuki TCG’s first set released on June 26.
